RW Kugryshev signs 3-year deal with Caps (AP)

Right wing Dmitry Kugryshev has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals. The 20-year-old Kugryshev was a second-round pick in the 2008 draft. The Russian is in his second season with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. His 83 points in 64 games rank seventh in the league, and his 55 assists rank fourth. Capitals C Aucoin signs 2-year extension (AP)

Center Keith Aucoin has signed a two-year contract extension with the Washington Capitals. Aucoin is currently in the minors with the Hershey Bears, leading the AHL in scoring with 84 points -- 31 goals and 53 assists. He helped lead Hershey to the AHL championship last season. The 5-foot-9, 162-pound Aucoin has three goals and eight assists in 21 games for the Capitals the last two seasons. [read full article]

Wild deal C Belanger to Capitals (AP)

The Washington Capitals have acquired center Eric Belanger (buh-LAHN'-zhay) from the Minnesota Wild for a second-round draft pick. The deal was done Wednesday, before the NHL's deadline. The 32-year-old Belanger will be a free agent this summer. He has 13 goals and 22 assists in 35 games, ranking seventh in the NHL with wins on 57.6 percent of his faceoffs. [read full article]
